Six Ways To Build Your Style Confidence

Updated: Jul 16, 2020

We all have style insecurities, even if we don't admit it.

Gaining confidence with how you dress will appraise everything you do. It cannot be underrated how much of an impact it will have on your personality and the way the world perceives you.

So the question is 'how can you build your fashion confidence?' Well, it's your lucky day lets get started.

1. Learn how to dress for your body

Your body is unique and perfect, so the least you can do is love it and cater to it. Have a look at my previous post on 'Knowing your fashion style...' to help you out.

To feel confident about your clothing, draw attention to your best features. If you know which areas to flaunt and which to mask, you’re sure to feel great about your style.

2. Never walk out the door feeling unsure about an outfit choice

We’ve all been there for sure! Seen an outfit you like, looks great on another person with a similar complexion and size then you start imagining how the outfit will look on you so you try it on, look in the mirror but you're not 100% sure whether it's right or if you feel confident. If there are doubts in your mind or you don't feel like you are ready to slay the day...then chances are you won’t feel confident during the day, trust me I've been there.

If you're unsure don't wear it! Set it aside and ask someone for a second opinion it could be someone you live with or a friend, hell, ask your child, cat, dog or a potential babe for reassurance.

Never leave the house if you are not 100% confident about your style!!

3. Find a style role model

Finding a style role model is one of the best things you can do for your fashion confidence. Style role model are there to inspire you, you don't have to wear every trend or fashion they wear. They don't have to have the same body type as you but they should have the same style preference. I follow Kim K West (2015-2017 style), Kelly Roland, Folake, Solange Knowles and Marilyn Monroe. The reason being, they choose clothes and colours that not only works with their body shape but defines and compliments them.

4. Define your style

Having a signature look can be the easiest way to feel confident about your outfit. It becomes a go-to look when deciding what to wear and you can have personalised outfits each day.

5. Plan the night before

We’re all guilty of this, I know I am for sure!

But planning your outfit the night before will not only save you time in the morning but you will be leaving the house feeling good in your choice of outfit. It also gives you time to alter your outfit.

6. Find your colour (Not black)

Knowing what colour looks best with your complexion and hair colour can immensely improve your confidence! There are various methods of deciding your colour palette, I will be covering finding your colour very soon or you can book a colour consultation with us.

Now that I’ve covered those points please remember don’t let insecurities taint your true style, you are a masterpiece.
