Body Image

I realise it is hard for girls with the media pushing size 0 models and quick diet products down our throats. Like seriously they would be everywhere, and as a young girl, I was obsessed with wanting to be skinny. There was a period were I started starving myself, I did see improvement, but the effect on my health wasn’t good.

I think with age, I have come to accept that this is how I am and I have the power to decide what I want to look like. I have learnt in order to sustain my weight I need

regular exercise, eat well and drink lots of water. Quick-fix diets don’t work! this.

I remember when I was back at school; we had an inspirational speaker who came in to about her weight issue and body image. For me, it was something that really helped because I had this woman standing in front of me who wasn’t a size 0, who was happy and comfortable in her own skin. It gave me that courage I needed to start feeling comfortable in my own skin.

I’ve been going to the gym with my partner and dancing a lot. I must say my partner is my motivator. I am now size 10 in jeans and size 6/8 in tops.
